Beginner Italian for Grades 3-5 and Grades 6-8
Session Breakdown
with Instructor, Angela LeClerc
Children will be picked up at the Sherman School by the instructor and will be walked to the Sherman Senior Center. Parents will need email The Sherman Schools Main Office to give permission for this walk.
Each age group participates in its own dedicated one-hour session:
Grades 3–5
Focus: Introduction & Language Play
- Basic greetings and expressions
- Numbers, colors, days of the week
- Simple vocabulary through songs, games, movement, and visuals
- Cultural stories, traditions, and celebrations
Outcome:
Students gain early exposure to a new language, develop listening skills, and build excitement for future language learning.
Grades 6–8
Focus: Foundations & Confidence
- Greetings and everyday conversation
- Alphabet and pronunciation
- Basic sentence structure
- Common verbs and vocabulary
- Cultural customs, food, and geography
Outcome:
Students begin forming simple sentences, understanding conversational language, and gaining confidence in speaking and listening.
